Michael Jordan New Ads with Hitler's Mustache

Although has been retired for several years, Michael Jordan still a popular brand to sale, and many products want to use him in their ads campaign. Recently Hanes launched a new men's underwear clothing, and used the former NBA superstar in their ads.

What started a little bit of controversy around Jordan's fans was his appearance on that ads, where he grew a mustache like Hitler's. They know that Jordan can't be a Hitler's admirer, but they just curious why he did such thing?

Some celebrities and former NBA players have a joke about this one.

Actor Jay Mohr wrote on her Twitter account to boycott Jordan's product until he get rid of his silly mustache. In Jimmy Kimmel Live, Aston Kutcher said that Jordan's mustache looks like the German's dictator, while Kimmel prefer to mentioned it looks like Charlie Chaplin.

While Michael Jordan ex-rival, Charles Barkley said that Jordan's appearance was stupid, because Jordan always became a trendsetter since his glory days as basketball legend. It was Jordan who popularized bald hair-cut in NBA, he also the one who started to using a long pants in the NBA.

After retirement, I guessed Jordan's fashion sense is kinda dull.

There Are Always Something Fun when Nate Robinson Playing

Nate Robinson has a big part in Boston Celtics victory against Orlando Magic in 2010 NBA Conference Finals. In the second quarter of the sixth game, he scored 13 points when he was substituted the injured Rajon Rondo, brought Celtics finished Magic 4-2.

Nate Robinson part in a game is never just about the points he scored. His attitude and determination always increases the spirit of his team. Being one of the shortest player in the NBA with only 5'9" (175 cm) height, he often defeats the bigger players.

He also three-times NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest champions, something that Michael Jordan himself can't achieved. Check this video footage of Nate Robinson blocked Yao-Ming (7'6" / 229 cm) jump shoot:

Not just his high vertical jump, Nate Robinson also an entertainer. We saw his dance raise the morale of his team in last finals game. Back in November 2009 when he still played for New York Knicks, he shot three points to his own team's basket! Okay that this happened after the buzzer, but still this made Knicks' coach Mike D'Antoni furious at him, and put him in the bench for the rest of the game.

Luckily for Nate, the series of disagreements with D'Antoni made him got traded to Boston Celtics on February 18, 2010. This trade-off benefits to both Celtics and Nate Robinson, where he played in 26 games with the Celtics averaging 6.5 points per game in 14.7 minutes per game this season.

Can The Chalk Toss Helps LeBron James Beat Celtics?

Led by this year MVP, LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers will fight against Boston Celtics in the eastern semi-final of NBA playoffs. To defeat this 17 times NBA champions, Cavs need all the help that they can get, and King James pre-game ritual might one of the answer.

Before every game, LeBron James always toss the scorer's chalk into the air. It's still unknown what the motive behind James' chalk ritual, some would say that this for boosting his confidence. While others might say that this ritual shows his arrogancy and disrespectful for his opponents, thus should be banned. Well, if Nike even used this ritual as their ads campaign theme, I guess there is nothing wrong with it.

Chalk Toss History

Apparantely, LeBron James is not the first NBA player who started this ritual. Michael Jordan did it every game in front of Johnny Redd Kerr before every game as a sign of respect, appreciation, and also to powder his hands.

Kevin Garnett also started this way back when he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He used to go to the table stand and stand on it sometimes and throw the chalk in the air after he put it on his hands and the T-Wolves fans used to cheer and Garnett would yell to get the crowd pumped up.

Well, maybe because King James is NBA main selling figure at this moment, they will even banned other players to not doing this ritual.

Sorry, but KG has done this even before you played in the NBA, James

There are some worrying moment to all basketball fans in China. Yao Ming's wife, Ye Li, is pregnant right now, and those Chinese affraid the baby gonna have a US citizenship.

Ye Li born November 20, 1981 is a Chinese professional basketball player who played for the China women's national basketball team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Ye, 1.9 m (6 ft 3 in) tall, met Yao at the age of seventeen in 1998. Ye initially rejected Yao's many requests to go on a date, but softened her rejections, especially after he gave her team pins from many participants of the 2000 Summer Olympics.

The Houston Rockets center, Yao Ming, married his wife in 2007. At this moment, those couples already back in States due to the knee injury therapist process of Yao Ming. Yao and Ye Li expecting their first child, possibly a daughter, in July 2010.

The Chinese fans hope the child gonna have her parents citizenship, because they have high hope that the child gonna have as much talent as her mom and dad. NBA All Star, Entertainment Side of Basketball (part 2)

And now after All Star Game, Slam Dunk Contest, and Skill Challenge in my previous posting NBA All Star, Entertainment Side of Basketball, here is another exciting game during NBA All Star Weekend.

NBA All Star Rookie Challenge
Rookie Challenge is a match between Rookies (first-year NBA players) against Sophomores (second season NBA players), the most entertaining Rookie Challenge for me is 2004 Game, when the candidates of NBA's Superstar like Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony was in their first season, Amar'e Stoudemire as sophomore. The point record is hold by Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Rookie Challenge 2008 as Sophomore with 46 points.

(2008 NBA All Star Rookie Challenge)

NBA All Star Celebrity Game
During NBA All Star Weekend, there is also NBA All Star Celebrity Game, from the game title you certain know, there are several celebrities, retired NBA players, WNBA players and another athletes outside basketball take part in this game. In my opinion 2009 NBA All Star Celebrity Game is the funny one.
