America Ferrera engaged to marry longtime beau Ryan Piers Williams

America Ferrera's publicist has confirmed the U.S. actress is engaged to her longtime beau Ryan Piers Williams, People.com said.


The 26-year-old Emmy-winning star of Ugly Betty met Williams at the University of Southern California when they worked together on a student film, according to People, which first reported their engagement.

Ferrera won an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her portrayal of Betty Suarez on ABC's "Ugly Betty," which wrapped last year after four seasons.

She and Williams met as students at the University of Southern California, the Web site said.
According to the movie database IMDb.com, Williams also wrote and directed the film "The Dry Land," due for release later this summer and starring Ferrera.
