Amitabh Bachchan

Born On: October 11, 1942
Birth Name: Amitabh Harivansh Srivastav
Height: 6' 2" (1.88 m)
Nickname: BIG B, Munna, Angry Young Man, Bollywood's Shahenshah, Amith, Big A

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad. He is the son of late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan did his schooling from Sherwood College, Nainital and later on pursued a degree in science from the Delhi University. His first job was in Shaw Wallace and later worked as a freight broker for a shipping firm called Bird and Co. But his destiny had something else to offer and it was the journey to stardom. He made his debut in the film Saat Hindustani (1969) which was directed by K.A. Abbas. Film failed on the box-office but Amitabh was noticed by film makers like Hrishikesh Mukherji and Sunil Dutt. Hrishikesh Mukherji (whom Amitabh treat as his Godfather),gave him a role in his two films, Anand and Guddi. Anand was the third film, which became a hit and he got best supporting actor filmfare award. Amitabh was getting the roles but they were not significant. Finally he got a chance to work in "Zanjeer", role for which he was not the first choice. Film turned out to be super-hit. By then a new avatar had emerged on silver screen, an "Angry young man". But this was his one aspect. He was a poet (Kabhi Kabhi), an decent professor (Kasme Vaade), a comedian (Chupke Chupke, Amar Akbar Anthony, Don), a dying lover (Mukaddar Ka Sikander). He did almost all kinds of roles. In 1973, after release of Zanjeer, Amitabh got married with Jaya Bhaduri. He became father at the time of release of Chupke Chupke. During the shooting of "Coolie" on 26th July 1982, he was injured and admitted to Breech Candy hospital. The whole nation prayed for his fast recovery and by the grace of God he was gifted with a new life. Mrs. Indira Gandhi, then P.M. of India, postponed her foreign trip and visited the hospital. After recovery Amitabh returned on silver screen, with Sharabi and Giraftar like hit movies. In the original script of "Coolie" Iqbal (Amitabh) had to die but Teji Bachchan asked Manmohan Desai to change it for her personal reasons. The last scene where he stands in the balcony and thank the people, was the real scene, a way to thank the people of India, "Main to chala gaya tha, laut aaya hoon to bus aapki duaon se...." Amitabh also tried his hand in politics in 1984 after the death of Mrs. Gandhi. He defeated the then called Chankya of the Indian politics, Hemvanti Nandan Bahuguna. But some how things went wrong and he got trapped in the dirty game of politics of anti-Rajiv Gandhi. Although during this period his classics "Main Azad Hoon" and "Agneepath" were released, but Amitabh was getting older. Amitabh decided to take a break in 1992, Khuda Gawah was the last release. He then launched ABCL which was a multi-faceted commercial enterprise. This was the major failure and he was surrounded by unthinkable debt. This is hard to imagine at that time how he survived but again he proved that he is not an ordinary man who live and die. With "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and "Mohabattein" he redefined his position in Indian cinema. Amitabh emerged again as a winner and slapped the critics who declared him "finished". Even in this age roles are written for him. Every film maker is dreaming to cast him in his/her film. He was declared as Star of the Millenium by BBC poll, by Stardust and even at the survey for statue at Madam Tusad. These are not mere coincident! May God bless him.

Katrina Kaif

Date of Birth: 16 July 1984, London, England, UK
Nickname: Kat
Height: 5' 8½" (1.74 m)

Born in Hong Kong on July 16, 1984 Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship.

She spent subsequent years in Hawaii, and then in London, Britain, She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelry campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.

Continuing to model was the reason she got her break in a Bollywood movie 'Boom' offered by none other than film-maker Kaizad Gustad.

She was flooded with modeling assignments the minute she set her foot on Indian soil, especially with her innocent expressive face, hour-glass figure, and drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet. It was the Lakme commercial that got her noticed. She retained Matrix as her Manager to accept work on her behalf and at the price she deserved.

Moving to different culture and country was not much of a culture shock for her, as she states that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared for.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

Although linguistically challenged, Katrina puts on a bold face and states that other Bollywood artistes like Sridevi, who did not know Hindi, did get offers from Bollywood film-makers, and she is no different. She has taken Hindi and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dancing where she used to dance 7 hours a day non-stop.

Despite of her soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily intimidated, but admits that she is very emotional, almost an incurable romantic, wears comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. Admitting to being lonely in the beginning, but now has several friends who she can hang out with.

Although her first movie 'Boom' was panned by the critics and shunned by the audiences, two other Telugu movies 'Malliswari' and 'Pidugu' did get her noticed. She grossed 70 Lakh Rupees for 'Malliswari' - making her top the list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian movie debut.

Not done with South Indian movies, she has been signed in a Tamil movie 'Bheema' opposite National Award Winner Vikram.

She has received decent reviews for her part in "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya", as well as a brief appearance in 'Sarkar'.

Katrina had made Mumbai her base, didn't mind singing and dancing around trees and as a result is now one of the biggest mega-stars, perhaps one of the highest paid female-lead actresses in Bollywood, and a crowd-puller whenever she makes an appearance for a live song and dance number.

Abhishek Bacchan

Birth Name: Abhishek Amitabh Srivastav
Date of Birth: 5 February 1976, Bombay, Maharashtra, India
Nickname : Baby B ,Junior B ,A B ,Junior Abi ,Abhi ,AB Baby
Height: 6' 3" (1.91 m)

Abhishek Bacchan, the anything but angry young man, came out of the shadows as Amitabh Bacchan’s son to build a success story in Bollywood.
His father’s son
He was born as Abhishek Amitabh Srivastav on the 5th Feb 1976 in Mumbai. What set him apart from other babies born on that day was that he was the son of superstar extraordinaire Amitabh Bacchan and actress Jaya Bacchan of the Guddi fame, who is currently a Samajwadi MP at the Rajya Sabha. He has an older sister Shweta. He’s also the grandson of Harivansh Rai Srivastav (pen-name Harivansh Rai Bacchan) who was an acclaimed poet. Both Abhishek and Amitabh took on the ‘Bacchan’ from this pen-name. Abhishek is partly Punjabi Sikh on his paternal side and a Bengali Kulin Brahmin on his maternal side.
Abhishek studied at the Jamnabhai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School, both located in Mumbai and also Modern School in New Delhi. His college years were in Aiglon College, Switzerland amongst the cheese, clocks and banks. He moved to Boston University in U.S to study business only to return back to India to help his father with ABCL, which was hit by a financial crisis.
He was engaged to the controversially sexy Karishma Kapoor back in 2002. They went public during his father’s sixtieth birthday celebration. It lasted as long as January 2003. He got engaged to ‘the most beautiful woman on earth’ Aishwarya Rai in 2007 and tied the knot with her a few months later at the Bacchan’s residence Prateeksha.
Bacchan Jr.
Abhishek’s first film was Refugee opposite Kareena Kapoor in 2000. The film was not a blockbuster but a good debut vehicle nonetheless. He got nominated for the Filmfare Best Debut Award. His acting career dipped from here on as he went on to act in several films that didn’t boost him up to the star status enjoyed by his parents. Some of the films that he starred in between 2000 and 2003 were Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, Om Jai Jagdish and Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon.
Come 2004 and our boy showed that persistence pays off as he delivered some brilliant performances. In 2004, he starred in Mani Rathnam’s Yuva as a goon Lallan Singh, winning the Filmfare Best Supporting Award. He then had another major hit with Dhoom in which he played the part of ACP Jai Dixit. Another film worth taking note of in the same year was Phir Milenge, a recycled version of the Hollywood film Philadelphia revolving around AIDS. Abhishek played the lawyer Tarun Anand.
In 2005, he had a runaway hit in the comedy Bunty Aur Babli with Rani Mukerji, which had shades of the Hollywood hit Bonnie & Clyde. It was the first film where he appeared alongside his father Amitabh Bacchan. The second film with his father, Ram Gopal Verma’s political thriller Sarkar was also a major hit. Abhishek’s portrayal of Shankar Nagre won him the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. He also did some guest appearances in films like Salaam Namaste and Neal n Nikki. He wrapped up the year with Bluffmaster with Priyanka Chopra, in which he sang the number Right Here, Right Now which was one of the top tunes of the year.
The year 2006 saw him in some of the biggest flicks of the year like Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehana that won him his third Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. He also made a brief appearance as Sunny Kurana in the sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai. He played Nawab Sultan Khan in Umrao Jaan with his real-life bride Aishwarya Rai. The film didn’t do as well as expected. However the sequel Dhoom 2 did a great job at the box office.
In 2007, while Jhoom Barabar Jhoom didn’t perform as well in India as overseas, he did justice to Gurukant Desai in Guru, which also starred Aishwarya Rai. The sequel Sarkar Raj, with Amitabh Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai, again pulled in the moolah at the box office. He had only two films lined up in 2008 – Drona, which was a below average performer and Dostana where he was paired opposite the hunky John Abraham.
Stay tuned
Year 2009 has Abhishek in Dilli 6 and Raavan.

Saif Ali Khan

Name: Saif Ali Khan
Birthday: 16th August ,1970
Height: 5'8
Address: Belscot Bungalow No 5,Lokhandwala Complex,Andheri [W], Mumbai 58.
Star Sign: Leo
Marital Satust: Single

First Movie: AASHIQ AWARA

"People don't remember the good things you do, they simply focus on the bad things. I have the reputation of being an arrogant brat. But if people mess around with me, obviously I will be arrogant with them. I don't have a bull's eye on my head that everyone can take a shot at me."

Son of famous actress Sharmila Tagore and cricket legend Mansoor Ali Khan, Saif Ali wasn't sure, growing up, whether he wanted to be a cricketer or a thespian. Up until last year, many would have said he'd chosen wrong.

As the child of two very public personalities, Saif Ali Khan has always merited attention from a curious public. Thus he was, for a time, better known for some unfortunate childhood tendencies -- like throwing cats out of windows and clipping birds' wings -- than for his stumbling career. (B4UTV.com) Saif has since repented for his evil deeds, though the animal kingdom has to issue a statement exonerating him.

His debut film was to have been Bekhudi, opposite newcomer Kajol. But the director tossed him out amidst allegations of tardy arrivals and drunken behavior. The press had a field day, and their glee only increased when they unearthed evidence of his secret wedding to actress Amrita Singh. Both took pains to deny it, since, as Amrita later explained, they first wanted to break the news to their parents. (B4UTV)

In April 1994, their anger over the media's treatment of them prompted Saif Ali and his wife to physically assault a journalist named Kanan Divech in her own office at the film glossy 'Star & Style.' The attack was so violent that some of the Divech's furniture was broken, and she promptly lodged a complaint that a police officer mysteriously failed to record. When his supervisor also hesitated to act, Divech took her allegation to the High Court of Mumbai, where, in August 1999, Amrita Singh finally offered an apology for the assault. (Times of India article printed in Durban Sunday Times, Aug. 8, 1999)

In a November 1999 interview with Rediff, Saif Ali revealed some of the feelings that might have prompted the assault on Divech: "I try not to hurt people, but sometimes when I feel I am not being understood and being treated as a human being. I can't help it. For example, when I hurt myself while shooting for Friends [original title of Kya Kehna] and was lying in a pool of blood, people were taking my photographs."

Up until recently, such scandals were the most distinguished aspect of Saif Ali's career. But with the smash success of Dil Chahta Hai and critical acclaim for his role in particular, Saif has gained new confidence along with a boost in box office status. In fact, it seems like everything has suddenly fallen into place. "I'm more confident today. Speaking Hindi also comes more naturally to me now," reflects the England-educated actor in the March 2002 issue of Filmfare. He has also vowed to choose his films more carefully -- and stop playing the third wheel in love triangles, the latest example of which is his role in box-office bomb Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. In the July 2002 issue of Filmfare, he claims that the role was misrepresented to him anyway: "I don't want to make an issue of it but the truth is that I was told my role would be pretty much equal to Hrithik's. In the final print, I had only six scenes. At least I can't be blamed for the failure of NTJNH. Of course I [regret doing the film]. In hindsight, it was a bad decision. It hurts when you're kept in the dark about what's happening. The audience expects more from me after DCH. I feel I've let them down. Yet more than hurt me, the film-makers have harmed their own product. Let's forget it though. I don't want to end up like a stuck record. The audience will soon forget the film and I've already moved on." (Filmfare, July 2002)

Also likely to aid his career is the fact that he's looking better than ever -- at least according to the man himself. "I'm looking cool. I'm not vain but I like to think I'm sexy. I wasn't born with a face that has hero written all over it. I've heard people call me a funny looking guy. It's taken a lot of effort to look like the typical hero, a man the youth can identify with." And when the Filmfare journalist suggests (very carefully, we're sure) that he is emulating Salman, he shoots back, "I don't consciously copy anyone. I'm an original. But yes, if working out, having a good body and looking great means aping Salman, then thanks. That's a compliment." At the very least, it's something that no furniture-owner can afford to argue with.

Likes Father, Likes Son. Beckham's childrens wanna get tattoo too just like their father.

It’s been just a few days since David Beckham showed off a new tattoo, a ring of roses on his upper arm, and the star reveals his boys too want to grow up to be just like daddy. Speaking with Matt Lauer of NBC’s The Today Show, the star revealed that eldest Brooklyn, who is just 10 years old, has already asked for a tattoo in his body.

During interview, Beckham also gave away his smart suit to host Matt Lauer, after he admired it.

Beckham, who recently returned to the U.S. to play for LA Galaxy, changed into a pair of jeans before handing over the well-tailored outfit.

Lauer joked that he was not going to wear the suit - but instead would be selling it on eBay.

'I admired his suit, he came down in jeans and gave me the suit of his back,' he said.

'I am selling it on eBay are you kidding me. His underwear is back in the dressing room.'

Tevez and number 32

Maybe lots of Carlos Tevez's fans are wondering, why he always wears jersey number 32 ?

And I have found a speculative answers about Carlitos' jersey number:

* Apparently Carlos Tevez believes that famous players should wear different numbers, doesn't want to be another 9 or 10, and 32 is a play on his idol Michael Jordan who wore the 23 jersey during his Basketball career.

* Tevez choose number 32 as expression of gratefulness when West Ham United have finally reached an agreement with him on 31 August 2006, as we all know that he had a contract problem with his previous club (Corinthians).
