NFL Players Pregame Ritual

Some athletes need to encourage themselves before playing in the match. This so-called pregame rituals sometime looks very hilarious to us, but to the player can greatly affects their performance. Lots of them competed under performance when they were unable to did one of their rituals. Check these NFL players pregame ritual:

John Henderson

The Jacksonville Jaguar's defensive tackle, John Henderson, has a trainer slap him as hard as they can. Just watch the video above and see Henderson get worked up into a raving lunatic. You can imagine what he's gonna do to his opponents after being slapped like that.

Brian Dawkins

The Denver Broncos Brian Dawkins plays like a mindless psycho, and when you see the way he warms himself up, you can see why. He will stalk the end zone before a game, pacing back and forth, not talking to anybody, except for the ball. Yeah right, Dawkins has an intense one-on-one session with a football before the game, to get himself and the ball ready to go.

Brian Urlacher

Brian Urlacher, Chicago Bears linebacker, eats exactly two chocolate chip cookies prior to every game. Not one, not three, two.

While other players do their ritual during the game, or after every touchdown. Take example with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger points to the sky after every touchdown, in honor of his mother. And Ray Lewis, Baltimore Ravens linebacker, of course does his traditional dance prior to games.

Examining the NFL Star Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning is one of the most well known football players currently playing the game of football. Even people who do not watch the sport know who he is, for many reasons. First, his talent on the field has been recognized worldwide, and although someone might not be a casual watcher of football, they can still respect the ability that Manning posses. In addition, Peyton Manning has come to be the most marketable player in the NFL. By this, I mean that out of all players, Peyton appears in the most advertisements and commands the most money for each ad he appears in.

It is not only his skill that has made this great quarterback so well known. He also has a great personality, and a strong modesty. Tom Brady of the Patriots seems to revel in his skill, while Peyton acknowledges that he is good, but he can always push to do better. In addition, the entire Manning family is famous, so by just him being a part of it, he has absorbed a lot of recognition. However, essentially all of the respect given to him he has earned himself, and he has not taken any automatic rewards. He has worked hard to earn everything he has.

Peyton showed promise for football starting at a young age. By the time he had gotten to college, he was one of the most promising football players in the United States. Because of this, he was drafted first by the Colts in the 1998 draft pick, and in his rookie year, he was already one of the best players in the League.

In his life, Peyton Manning has appeared in dozens of commercials for a long line of organizations. This ranges from the American Red Cross to Sprint. In the future, it is expected that Peyton will continue to capitalize on his popularity, and star in even more advertisements.

Athletes Going Nude for PETA

Athletes are no less famous than celebs in term of a public figures. Everything they do can set a trendsetter or attract public opinions. That's why it's important for them to do social activities to become a role model for the younger generation.

There are some athletes which choose a bold way to do a social work. That is posed with no clothes on for PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). Among these brave athletes are NFL Atlanta Falcon's Tony Gonzales and Olympic gold medals swimmer Amanda Beard.

The Reasons

The football sensation, Tony Gonzales, and his wife October are baring it all in a PETA ad to tell people to wear their own skin and let animals keep theirs. In the ad, Tony and October say "we'd rather go naked than wear fur."
I’ve never done something like this before. I’m usually not a political person…the pictures I saw were pretty gruesome, pretty cruel. If done the right way, maybe. But done the way I saw it, it’s definitely inhumane.
The 10-time Pro Bowler, who holds the NFL record for most receptions by a tight end, is taking the campaign seriously (as he should), and has made changes to his diet, “I eat a little meat now, but it comes from clean sources: grass-fed cows, free-range chickens, wild fish, stuff like that,” he said. “I’m OK with it as long as you do it humanely.”

While for Amanda Beard, posing like this is not for the first time. She done something bolder when she posed for the infamous "bunny" magazine, that has nothing to do with social activity of course.

First off, Amanda doesn’t want people to get the impression that she sheds her swimsuit at every single opportunity:
Like with Playboy, that was more of a personal reason. I wanted to do it, I thought it’d be fun and something I could look back on. And with PETA it was more for a good cause. And I’m not even really naked, I’m covering myself up, so I didn’t see all the fuss in that.
I hope in the future much more athletes (for me, especially the females) are dare to follow the footstep of these two. Not just going with the sexy thing, but much more social and charity activities to set examples for their fans.

Shaq VS Ben Roethlisberger, Shaq VS episode 1

Shaq VS Ben Roethlishberger, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback

Shaq VS begins filming Wednesday in Pittsburgh, where Shaq will take on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in football.

Both men train at the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice facility before taking on a traditional 7-on-7 game at Ambridge High School in Ambridge, PA. Shaq started with the ball and both scored twice to tie the game at 14 points. Shaq completed a few big plays to the endzone while Roethlisberger preferred to move the ball methodically to score. However, on Shaq's ensuing possession, he threw a pass that was intercepted in the endzone, giving Roethlisberger a chance to win on the last possession. After working the ball some, Roethlisberger indeed completed a pass to the back of the endzone, giving him the win.

Handicap:

Shaq gets to start each possession at the 20-yard line while Ben must start at the 40-yard line.

Winner:

Ben Roethlisberger (Final Score: 21-14)
