SOG Knives in The Blade Shop

There are many brand of knives in the market, but how much of them are becoming a part of war history? One from the few is the SOG knife. It was designed for, and issued to, covert Studies and Observation Group personnel during the Vietnam War.

SOG Knives for Military Covert-Ops

The Military Assistance Command, VietnamStudies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) was a highly classified United States special operations unit which conducted covert unconventional warfare operations prior to and during the Vietnam War. The SOG Knives are specially made for this group which was unmarked and supposedly untraceable to country of origin or manufacture in order to maintain plausible deniability of covert operators in the event of their death or capture.

Activated in January of 1964, SOG was a joint services unit composed of members from all four branches of the armed forces, including Navy SEALs, Marine Recons, Air Force Special Operations pilots of the 90th Special Operations Wing, but predominantly Army Special Forces.

The unit main tasks including intelligence gathering, raiding mission, carried out the capture of enemy prisoners, rescued downed pilots, and conducted rescue operations to retrieve prisoners of war throughout Southeast Asia. The SOG unit was formally disbanded on 1 May 1972.

Long after the Vietnam War ended, Spencer Frazer founded SOG Specialty Knives and Tools, Inc., that was named in honor of the Vietnam War's only covert special warfare unit, SOG. Started in 1986 in Frazer's apartment, SOG has becoming the leading company in creating the strongest, most innovative multi-tools and knives on the market.

15 Richest Athletes of Formula 1

Do you still remember in Germany Grand Prix on July 25, when Felipe Massa led the race and then he step aside to gave victory to his teammate, Fernando Alonso? Although Ferrari has denied and claimed that it wasn't a "team order", the fact that Fernando Alonso is Ferrari's golden boy is undeniable.

This is make sense because Fernando Alonso has the highest salary in F1, and Ferrari would do anything to see him become F1 World Champion. While for Felipe Massa, he's only in third rank of the highest paid driver in F1, with salary less than halves of Alonso's.

F1 drivers always among the richest athletes on the planet. With the risk in their sport, it is reasonable that they are paid more than any other athletes. These are the diver's salary list of this year F1 championship (not including victory bonus or other endorsements):

1. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) €30 million
2. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) €16 million
3. Felipe Massa (Ferrari) €14 million
4. Jenson Button (McLaren) €9 million
5. Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) €8 million
6. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) €8 million
7. Robert Kubica (Renault) €7.5 million
8. Rubens Barrichello (Williams) €5.5 million
9. Mark Webber (Red Bull) €4.2 million
10. Jarno Trulli (Lotus) €3 million
11. Heikki Kovalainen (Lotus) €3 million
12. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) €2 million
13. Timo Glock (Virgin) €1 million
14. Nico Hulkenberg (Williams) €0.7 million
15. Pedro de la Rosa (Sauber) €0.5 million

Note: €1 is approx. equal to US$1.262

It's interesting to see that the strongest contender for this year championship, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, is paid way way less than Fernando Alonso, who currently only stands on the 5th rank of the championship table.
